Patricia Hensley, Administrative Nurse Manager, Maternal Infant Unit and Newborn Nursery, FLORIDA HOSPITAL will share how the nursing leadership at four major Florida Hospital locations came together to develop two standard infant protection policies and report templates – one for the Hugs system and the other for the Hugs Wi-Fi system – that could apply to all of Florida Hospital.

Getting the Clinical Perspective Heard During Technology Decisions

Andrea Miller, Director of Women and Infant Services, ADVOCATE CHRIST MEDICAL CENTER will review the reasons why Advocate deployed Hugs Wi-Fi solution for all 12 of its hospitals with maternal childcare and the practical considerations in managing an enterprise Hugs solution from the clinical perspective.

Lean Six Sigma Approach to Reducing Patient Security Alarm Rates

David Sweet, Senior Manager, Security, NYU LANGONE MEDICAL CENTER  will explain how the security group worked closely with the hospital’s Lean Six Sigma and clinical teams to initiate a Rapid Improvement Event (RIE) to identify root causes of nuisance alarms and improve alarm handling.

Clinical Management of Hugs System Alarms

Joy Pavsic, RN, MSN, IBCLC, CLC, Assistant Nurse Manager, Mother-Baby Unit, NYU LANGONE MEDICAL CENTER will continue David Sweet’s session and provide the clinical perspective of how the RIE improved the handling of Hugs system alarms.

Improving Patient Flow in a Multispecialty Provider-Based Outpatient Clinic

Tiffany Auvil, LPN, Lead Point of Care Testing Coordinator, DAVIS MEDICAL CENTER, will present the results of using the AeroScout Patient Flow module and MobileView Analytics to improve the flow and patient experience in their clinic.

Better Pump Management Using Real-Time PAR Analytics

David Yi, Assistant Director of Quality, FLORIDA HOSPITAL will demonstrate how the Florida Hospital Orlando campus significantly increased location accuracy and device availability time by redesigning their pump management process. 

Building and Managing a Large RTLS Team and RTLS Infrastructure

Carlos Quintero, Manager, AeroScout RTLS, ADVENTIST HEALTH SYSTEM, will outline how to develop a centralized team to implement and maintain RTLS technology throughout more than 40 hospitals across multiple-states.

Creating a Staff-Driven Safety Culture at a Community Hospital

Stacy McNall, MSN, RN, CLC,, Director Family Birth Center and Professional Development for ST. MARY’S JANESVILLE HOSPITAL,  will share how St. Mary’s, who has limited resources at their disposal, addressed serious safety concerns by developing  a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team of Safety Champions.
