In a blog posting a few weeks ago, I re-emphasized that the AeroScout family of RTLS solutions for healthcare is alive and well and continues to grow.

Autumn is arriving, and with it comes the arrival of a new season of industry events!  These are welcome opportunities for STANLEY Healthcare to meet with subject-matter experts from across healthcare to learn from their ideas and experiences in improving patient safety.

Summer has been a very busy season for STANLEY Healthcare, especially our Technical Support Organization.  In June, we released our enriched Support Community, delivering a whole new customer experience with several innovative features that better serve our customers.

Stanley Black & Decker recently announced that it is discontinuing the AeroScout Industrial product line of manufacturing, transportation and logistics applications. It’s not surprising that this has lead to some misunderstanding about the future of STANLEY Healthcare’s AeroScout solutions.

The news this week of an infusion pump recall deemed Class 1 by the FDA highlights the immense advantage of having an RTLS asset management solution in place when this kind of event occurs. Locating affected pumps will be a matter of minutes for hospitals with a real-time system in place – it could take days without it.

In the acute care arena, finding required equipment in the right condition and location continues to be a challenge.  In working with our customers, we continue to hear:

“I can never find a wheelchair when I need one. Someone needs to order more!”
